Fire Hydrant System
Fire Hydrant System is one of the oldest and the most effective and common fire fighting equipment. It is considered the backbone of the entire fire fighting system and performs heavy duty at the time of the fire. Apart from this, these places must have a proper water supply. A hydrant is invented to provide water to fire-fighters instantly to extinguish the fire. We used fire hydrant pumps by ISI marked company.
Components of fire hydrant system:
The main components of fire hydrant system are:
Fire Fighting Pumps & Accessories
Piping
Panels
Landing Valves
Hoses
Branch Pipes & Nozzles
Fire Brigade Connections
Wiring & Instrumentations
Couplings
Hose Reel
Maintenance Valves
Uses of Hydrant System:
A Hydrant system is used to supply water to suppress the fire.
Fire hydrant systems are used to test the hydraulic capacity of the distribution system.
Fire Hydrant System can be used to flush the main distribution line due to its capability of high flow
Fire hydrant systems are used in Common uses such as Sewer cleaning, road construction, street cleaning, etc.
Hydrant System has one inter-related product of it which is known as Sprinkler System.
Sprinkler System:
A Sprinkler System is a fire-fighting device that is installed in buildings. As prevention measures, the heads of sprinklers are placed in the ceiling facing toward the floors or towards any fire hits spots. There are four types of Sprinkler systems such as wet, dry, preaction, and deluge.
A Sprinkler system is a fire-fighting equipment used to fight against fire by protecting the building by causing immediate discharge of water, usually from a pipe near the buildings. The Sprinkler system was invented in around late 19th century by Hiram Stevens Maxim. They are now used worldwide.
Types of Sprinkler System:
There are four types of fire sprinkler system:
• Wet pipe:
Wet pipe fire sprinkler system is the most common type in residential buildings. In this sprinkler system, cold water is stored pressure in the pipes, and when its pre-determined heat level reaches a point, it immediately releases water sprinkler heads.
• Dry pipe:
A dry pipe fire sprinkler system is a system in which pipes are filled with pressurized air or nitrogen instead of air. This air holds a remote valve known as a Dry pipe.
• Deluge:
This fire sprinkler system is mostly used in rapid fire damage areas such as warehouses and high-rise buildings. They are triggered by an alarm what opens a water release valve.
• Pre-action:
This Sprinkler System is a combination of both wet and dry systems. This water is not stored in pipes, but when a fire is detected, the water is released to the sprinkler heads. This Sprinkler system is widely used in large areas such as offices & shopping mall
